These are the key elements of a successful portfolio. It must

  • present a complete range of your talents while targeting your career field.
  • be completely self explanatory.
  • be sparkling and up-to-date.
  • be meticulously presented, representing the best of your talents.

There is no shortcut to success in portfolio preparation; it is a long, exacting process which should begin when you enter school and continue throughout your entire career. A portfolio is never completely finished; it is constantly in a state of flux. Old projects are removed and new ones are included. Content is rearranged to target a particular employer or industry.
